Carissia, the heart and soul of Carissia & Company is a singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, author, and advocate of the arts. A native to Nashville, Tennessee, Carissia has been active in the community and is presently working with area schools to provide educational musical presentations that promote diversity awareness using America's music history. So far the program, Live Music in America, Inc., has educated, engaged, and entertained more than 7,000 children in the Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky areas.

Carissia is a BBA graduate of Belmont University where she also received several accolades, including the prestigious Bob Mulloy's "Excellence Award" for her outstanding achievements and contributions to the Belmont Music Business program.

Carissia has received several awards and certificates of recognition for her journalistic efforts.

With a passion for and a deep concern about the equality of education delivered to all students, Carissia decided to attend and graduate from one of Tennessee's top universities where she earned three Education degrees in the area of Curriculum and Instruction:  two Master of Arts (MA) and a Specialist in Education (EdS) degrees.
