Bios" Carissia
the heart and
soul of Carissia & Company is a singer-songwriter,
entrepreneur, author, and advocate of the arts. A native to Nashville, Tennessee,
Carissia has been active in the community and is presently working with area
schools to provide educational musical presentations that promote diversity
awareness using America's music history. So far the program,
Live Music in America, Inc., has educated, engaged, and entertained more than
7,000
children in the Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky areas.
Carissia is a BBA graduate of
Belmont University
where she
also received several accolades, including the prestigious
Robert "Bob" Mulloy's "Excellence Award" for her
outstanding achievements and contributions to the Belmont University Music Business
program in Nashville Tennessee.
Carissia has received many honors, awards, and certificates
of recognition and achievement for her journalistic and other
endeavors/projects in the community.
With a passion for and a deep concern about the
equality of education delivered to all students, Carissia decided to attend
and graduate from Tennessee
Technological University (TTU)
where she earned three
Education degrees in the area of Curriculum and Instruction:
Masters of Art (MA) in Instructional Leadership and Masters of Art (MA)
in Curriculum; an EdS, Specialist in Education.
Currently, Carissia is singing,
singing, singing while working on a new CD project and educational pursuits
toward a Phd.

Tom
Malone
The musical director of Carissia & Company is
Tom
Malone. Tom delivers, without a doubt, the authentic "rhythm and
blues" feel to the music of Carissia & Company. He retired as a U.S.
Naval Musician, Chief Petty Officer, who spent over 21 years touring the
United States,
Europe, Italy, and Northern Africa. While in the Navy, Tom also
completed two different tours of duty in the Vietnam and Lebanon Wars.
As a guitarist-musician, Tom perform for USO Shows which
featured such artists as Bob Hope, Brooke Shields, Vic Damone, and more.
And performed with Navy bands that included the following: Diplomats, Six
Fleet Show Band, Atlantis Rock Band, Stern Wheel Drive Band, CincSouth Show
Band, and more.
Tom was one of the first Caucasian guitarists to perform
with Nashville, Tennessee's Black music artists such as Gene and Levert
Allison, Fred Waters, Larry LaDon, Jimmy Church, Tyrone Smith, Clifford
Curry, Bob Holmes, The Valentines with Kitty Clark, Johnny Jones, William
Patton and the Continentals, Bobby Sherrell, Casey Clark, Deford Bailey,
Jr., Larry Birdsong, Soul Brothers, Good Rocking Hoppy, SAXUAL Fulfillment
featuring Carissia, and more.
Also, Tom employed as a Recording Engineer, worked at Moss
Rose Publishing Company which was a part of Hubert Long Talent Agency on
legendary Music Row.
Tom is the guitar instructor for
Live
Music in America's program entitled "Blues and Beyond." Tom
is also a songwriter and writer. He wrote for a short while for
the column "Fret Talk" music columns in the
Explore
Monthly Newspaper, Music City Blues
Newsletter, and continues to write
short stories. Tom is a graduate of Vanderbilt University

Maurice Brooks ...
Maurice is a professional drummer from Goodlettville,
Tennessee. He loves playing drums, and is currently working on a
Applied Engineering degree at Tennessee Tech University. Maurice's
drummer influences consist of Tony Royster, Carter Beauford, Chris Coleman,
and more.
